Hometown Restaurant Group is seeking qualified candidates to fill two bartender positions at Public House in downtown Ferndale. Ideal candidates will have experience as a bartender/mixologist at a full-service bar/restaurant, and have a passion for service and the hospitality industry. We are looking for team players with a knack for making guests feel welcomed, informed and satisfied.

Our work environment includes:
Bartenders/servers are responsible for taking and delivering food and drink orders in a quick, accurate and personable manner, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to customers. Bartenders also prepare drinks for servers during service, and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the bar and service area. Candidates should have at least two years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant. Ideal candidates will display a helpful and friendly demeanor, and have a vast understanding alcoholic drinks, and the ability to diffuse tense situations and satisfy customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Monitor customer behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders.
- Assist with banquet and catering events as needed.
- Build rapport with customers to create a positive atmosphere.
- Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the hospitality or food service.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate bills and make change accurately.
- Familiarity with mixology techniques and different types of alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Personable demeanor and ability to multitask (take orders, prepare drinks, interact with customers) without making mistakes.
- Keen memory to keep mental list of ingredients in signature cocktails, in addition o popular drinks customers order.
