Description
Hometown Property Group seeks to provide the best living experience for residents across our 270 properties. We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Worker to join our growing company in the greater Indianapolis area to serve these residents. You will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the physical properties in order to ensure residents have a comfortable and safe living experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficient in the English language
- Minimum 1 year experience in the maintenance or respective trade industry
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Seek to perform duties efficiently and effectively to give residents the best experience
- Quickly carryout an assigned task list on apartments after residents move out
- Perform ongoing maintenance to the grounds and apartments
- Research and negotiate cost effective purchases while performing appropriate repairs
- Pick up supplies and appropriate appliances from hardware stores to perform duties and repairs as needed (company card provided)
- Work respectfully with vendors who service properties
- Learn and use our property management software to effectively make repairs
- Be available for snow removal and salt application at key locations
- Learn the process for opening and closing the pool at one of our locations
- On-call is required on a rotating basis with other members of our maintenance team
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager and President
- Be cooperative and kind with other staff members and residents
- Keep your workspace tidy and organized to efficiently continue work
- Communicate regularly with other staff members for ongoing and completed tasks
- Seek to accomplish assigned tasks with a “same day completion” mindset
- Maintain a consistent and reliable work ethic
Skills
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, construction, carpentry, and plumbing trades
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- HVAC Certifications
Job Type: Full Time
Pay
- $18–$25 per hour depending on experience, professionalism and knowledge.
