Landscape Construction Technician 2

A successful candidate in this position will take a supporting role in the installation of flagstone and paver walkways, patios, retaining walls, sitting walls; drain systems and irrigation systems. Candidate will have the knowledge, skills and mindset to lead and encourage other team members with a view towards achieving first- rate artistic work. JOB SUMMARY:

The Landscape Technician 2 will assist in performing essential functions associated with a variety of landscape construction projects including but not limited to installing retaining walls, walkways, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, drain systems, irrigation repair and installation. Additionally, tech will assist with the installation of trees and shrubs, installation of sod, and assist with tree removals. Candidate must be energetic with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the landscape construction industry. Candidate must be friendly, neat, customer- focused and safety conscience. Candidate must be strongly committed to being a team member.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assist with a variety of landscape projects as mentioned in the Job Summary.
• Assist with installation of sod, trees, shrubs, and other plant items.
• Assist with loading and unloading tools.
• Assist with cutting, loading, hauling, and disposing of tree and shrub debris.
• Fueling equipment with gasoline and/or bar chain oil.
• Assists to repair damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming and removal.
• Strictly adhering to all safety standards as set forth by HomeScape Carolina.
• Other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years full-time experience working as a Landscape Technician in the Landscape industry - or related industry.
• 2 years’ full-time experience building retaining walls, walkways, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, and drain systems.
• Experience installing irrigation a plus.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience operating chain saws, blowers, trenchers, concrete saws
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Prefer non-smoking candidate. If a smoker, the candidate must possess the ability to refrain fromsmoking while on the job and in company vehicles .
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions.

SKILLS:

• Ability to handle chainsaws, blowers, trenchers, concrete saws and hand tools effectively and safely.
• Experience building retaining and free-standing walls from various types of materials.
• Some experience with the installation and repair of irrigation systems.
• Ability to take instructions and undertake the completion of a project with moderate level of supervision.
• Ability to effectively work as a member of a team.

• Bilingual a plus.

Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour Reports to: Owner
