Drivers wanted - no special license required!!! Homes for Independent Living is seeking Direct Support Professional (DSP) Drivers to provide transportation services for our clients. This position will be assigned to a general geographical area and will be responsible to transport adults with disabilities to and from programs and appointments.
What will I be doing as a Driver at HIL?
Provide reliable transportation for persons supported to their desired destination including but not limited to community events, leisure activities, day programs, household errands and medical appointments.
Operate vehicle in a safe manner, abides by all State of Wisconsin traffic laws.
Assist clients with getting into and out of vehicle per client needs, including operation of vehicle wheelchair lifts.
Utilize mobile technology to interact with dispatching staff regarding trip information.
Maintain complete and thorough documentation per company standards.
Train other employees on proper operation of the vehicle, lift system, and devices for securing wheelchairs.
Maintain the exterior/interior of the vehicle.
Maintain a work schedule that meets the needs of the assigned transportation trips. May be asked to assist with transportation trips outside assigned area.
Remain informed on client support needs related to transportation. Meets training and continuing education requirements per company standards.
Adhere to policies and procedures regarding vehicle use and transportation.
What will I get?
Base rate of $15.00/hr.
PLUS $1 more Monday-Friday between 2pm-10pm.
AND $2 more per hour on the weekends!

What is the schedule?
Full time, some weekdays and every other weekend.
Holiday rotations.
What are the Qualifications?
A High School Diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent work experience.
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with 3 years clean driving record
Demonstrates skill and/or potential in working with individuals with special needs in a supportive environment, while exercising courtesy and maintaining individual dignity.
Exercises good personal judgment, critical thinking skills and punctuality
Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality and strong communication skills.
