Homes for Independent Living (HIL) has been a leader offering residential services for adults who have a wide variety of disabilities since 1984. Our residents live in small group homes or apartment settings which allow for individualized attention and support. We are looking for a Direct Support Supervisor (DSS) to join our Long Term Behavioral Waukesha Management team. A DSS provides direct supervision for our long term behavioral clients and assigned caregivers within one of our program settings. Responsibilities Include:

Performance management of employees.
Implementation of company policies and procedures.
Maintaining excellent communication with guardians/case workers/management and overall health monitoring of clients.
Assistance with client's daily living activities, transportation, cooking, and cleaning.
Assistance with personal cares as needed.
Empowering the use of their own coping skills and making healthy decisions.
Supporting functional social and community skills, recreational activities and redirection of challenging behaviors.
Responding to strong verbal and physical behaviors, property destruction, or elopement with clients.
Report allegations of abuse, resident rights violations, conflict of interest, harassment, or fraud to management.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Exercise sound personal judgment.

Benefits:

Base wage of $17/hr.
2nd shift wage bonus - Additional $1/hr. 2pm-10pm weekdays!
Weekend wage bonus - Additional $2/hr. 10pm Fri-10pm Sun!

Qualifications:

Minimum of 18 years of age.
Demonstrated passion, accountability, & teamwork.
Valid Driver’s License with at least 3 years of clean driving record.
Two (2) years of experience providing community based residential support services in a long term community-based care setting.
Demonstrated experience mentoring and motivating staff.
Successful completion of a caregiver background check, TB test and Health Screen.
