POSITION OVERVIEW

HomeRise seeks an experienced social service professional to conduct programming and offer resident support to families formerly experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. The Resident Services Team Lead is responsible for collaborative management of the day-to-day operations of a Resident Services office, serving residents on site. This position role strongly emphasizes purposeful case management, groups and activities, service planning and crisis intervention as well as supporting on-site services in coordination with other RSTL’s. Rotating with other RSTL’s and Manager, provide site support for Housing Operations coordination and housing retention services. All services are provided within the context of Housing First and Harm Reduction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct assessments, provide case management services for up to twenty families, create and track service plan goals, and ensure that proper follow-up and/or referrals are complete and documented.
  • Manage all resident stability efforts through active collaboration with property management and maintenance staff including bi-weekly coordination, monthly operations, and wellness logs.
  • Coordinate, plan and facilitate three weekly activities/groups focused on housing, income, and resourcefulness with other RSTL’s.
  • Outreach families in HomeRise units based on outreach plan and schedule.
  • Accompany clients to community-based appointments.
  • Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation services to all residents.
  • Provide collaborative support to other RSTL’s and coordinate services with staff from other HomeRise sites and departments.
  • Offer residents housing retention strategies.
  • Co-create and support community building, skill building, and resident empowerment activities including youth.
  • Provide services using a harm reduction and trauma-informed lens.
  • Participate in, and provide coverage as needed, for facilitation of Monthly Community meetings and island events.
  • Complete documentation per agency policy.
  • Support Assistant Program Director/Resident Services Manager/Program Director with administrative duties as assigned.
  • Participate in meetings and organizational initiatives.
  • Understand and apply basic data metrics and analysis to inform service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 (five) years proven ability to work with homeless or formerly homeless families and/or persons struggling with substance use, mental health issues, and disability and minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience providing case management and crisis intervention or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science (social work, psychology, clinical psychology) is preferred and reduces minimum experience to 4 (four) years working with this community and 2 (two) years providing case management, or
  • Master’s degree or a social service certification (CAADAC, CCAPP, etc.) is strongly preferred and reduces minimum experience to 3 (three) years working with this community and 1 (one) year providing case management.
  • Knowledge of supportive housing, housing first, trauma-informed, motivational interviewing and harm reduction principles.
  • Working knowledge of community resources and service programs.
  • Ability to communicate program realities to funders and community stakeholders.
  • Proficient documentation and excellent writing skills.
  • Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to meet programmatic deliverables in high pace environment.
  • Excellent computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Salesforce or another cloud-based database).
  • Strong interest in doing social justice advocacy.
  • Desired qualification: Fluency in Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese/Russian a plus.
