Homer Community Schools is Hiring a Technology Specialist Near Marshall, MI
- JobID: 8686
- Minimum of a two year degree in a computer related field or high school diploma with demonstrated competence and a minimum of two years experience
- Experience in advanced computer troubleshooting and repair with networking, TCP/IP and Windows server
- Experience working with wireless networks and wireless devices
- Experience in basic computer troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to install, configure and instruct end users on the basics of using various software programs
- Additional network experience related to servers and software, printers work stations, wireless and switches preferred
- PowerSchool experience, preferred, or strong database manipulation skills including scripting to produce data import/export routines and custom report generation
- Linux programming experience, preferred
- Experience in computer imaging, preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to learn about new technology and adapt to its use
- Monitor and maintain servers and network infrastructure
- Install, maintain and upgrade PC workstation hardware, software and peripheral devices; ensure devices are connected with District network
- Perform diagnostic troubleshooting with Multimedia equipment such as projectors, document camera, docking station and technology cart components
- Install, maintain and update telephones; ensure connectivity with District network
- Assist with diagnostics of cabling, jacks, patch panels and racks
- Perform, coordinate and assist with projects, programs, activities and events as assigned; assist other technical personnel with projects and tasks as needed
- Assist in the development and maintenance of district equipment and software inventory
- Share in responsibility of recording monthly evening Board meetings
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Technology

The network support technician will troubleshoot and solve computer network related hardware, software, printer and connection problems. The network technician will interact with staff and students alike to provide computer support, including training.
