    Background Context:
    It is a best practice across models of highly effective STEM schools that an Engineer be part of the instructional team. The need for that engineering expert experience is critical nonetheless.
    General Information:
    To support the implementation phases of the STEM Innovation Center a temporary role has been created. This role is specifically a transition role during the build up years of staff, curriculum and implementation. It is expected that this role exists in subsequent years. But, the role is planned to transition to an STEM/Engineering Instructional Coach and Engineering Lead Instructor [IX endorsed] once the implementation is completed after year 3. Because the credential skills and responsibilities will be significantly different post implementation, this temporary role has been created to fill the gap, support STEM programming, instructional practices and improve the likelihood of program success of students.
    Critical Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Provide support to staff to build capacity through collaboration, planning, use and lesson design for the Engineering Design work.
    • Provide input and instructions to staff in developing student experience user training of 3D Printing, CAD, Robotics, Animation, and the engineering design process.
    • Develop non-consumable and consumable materials list required to support successful implementation of 6th , 7th, and 8th grade engineering and STEM design projects.
    • Manage materials inventory, Engineering Design materials prepping, and support emerging needs of 6th-8th grade collaborative design teams as inquiry-based projects evolve.
    • Support instructional team development of robotics, 3D printing, CS coding, innovative technology elective coursework.
    • Provide overall support as PBL/STEM/Integrated Engineering structures are defined, created and implemented.
    • Provide instructional assistance around innovative technology under meaningful and direct supervision of certified classroom instructors when necessary.
    • Identify networks, coordinate and schedule industry expert support for team presentations, design feedback, and research during design phases.
    Required Credentials:
    Must possess a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an accredited university, including evidence on coursework specific to engineering design, technology integration in design, and engineering practices in discipline. Experience using CAD, 3D Printing, Animation and other innovative STEM related technologies to produce engineering design prototypes, renderings, or iterative solution designs. Experience using CAD, 3D Printing, Animation, [Innovative Technology] in a K12 student setting to support project-based learning Experience working with youth, at risk youth, learners in an educational setting or a K12 setting broadly in industrial trades, or specifically in an engineering design setting Real-life experience using design constraints to guide engineering planning, design, revisions, pro-totype, and/or final production iteration(s). Strong understanding of safety practices specific to engineering in fabrication design studio Ability to work in a team setting with professionals in a collaborative framework to design curriculum, develop instructional practices that support student learning through an engineering lens of design
    Preferred Skills, Experience and Attributes:
    Understanding of PBL specific methods of instructional practices, developing, managing, and supporting collaborative teams NSGx applied (or work experience equivalent) understanding of Engineering and Cross Cutting Concepts as drivers of problem identification, solution design, and engineering iterative process. Experience with material ordering systems
