Requirements

Ensure all client records and documentation is submitted in accordance with IHPS policies and

procedures and utilize documentation to provide accurate and timely invoice processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all IHPS policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all Illinois Department of Public Health regulations outlined in the Administrative Code

pertaining to Home Health, Home Services, and Home Nursing Agency are upheld.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IHPS team members, clients, client’s advocates

and designees.

  • Handles and resolves client’s billing questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Audit client and billing records prior to filing them in the client chart to ensure they are

complete, accurate and signed according to IHPS policies and procedures.

  • Adheres to HIPAA in communication, documentation and file retention processes.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation regarding client’s services, billing information

and communication notes in IHPS Billing Sheets and other billing spreadsheets.

  • Thoroughly review Long Term Care Insurance policies and work with the client or client’s

advocate or designee to ensure that all documentation necessary for coverage is submitted

accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Assist with completion of US Department of Veterans Affairs Aide and Attendant Affidavits.
  • Assists in training new and existing team members on billing procedures and best practices.
  • Offer ideas and suggestions to the Supervisor on possible changes and updates to billing

procedures and best practices.

  • Ensure accurate, timely and consistent invoicing of services, and calculation of credits and

refunds.

  • Utilize QuickBooks to create and update customer accounts, invoices, credit memos,

statements, receive payment, and refunds.

  • Ensure all billing invoices are received by clients and their advocates or designees in accordance

with the prescribed billing schedule.

  • Processes credit card payments and ACH drafts according to IHPS schedule to ensure timely

processing.

  • Oversee passed dues following up with clients, client’s advocates and designees and adding late

fees when necessary until payment is submitted.

  • Participates in all mandatory in-services, meetings, and quality reviews in accordance with

company policy and/or state regulations.

  • Be available during IHPS hours of operation.
  • Responsible to keep records and files in a safe and secure place to secure client information.
  • Performs all other duties as determined by the Director of Quality Control.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy on basic MS WORD, MS EXCEL, MS OUTLOOK and QuickBooks.
  • At least (1) year of experience in Billing or Bookkeeping.
  • Exudes a passion and desire to care for the elderly.

Position Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with the Health Care Worker Background

Check Act (225 ILCS 46) and Health Care Worker Background Check Code (77 Illinois

Administration Code 955)

  • Must submit to and have negative results in a drug and alcohol screening
  • Provide proof of a recent TB test with negative results
  • Provide a copy of a health exam by a licensed physician no less than 12 months prior to the date

of hire

  • Copy of certification/ licensure if applicable
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United State

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
