JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Director of Operations

Reports To: Executive Director

Based at: 1991 Duncan Place Woodstock, IL

Status: Full-time / Exempt

General Description:

The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall efficiency of agency operations with a focus on enhancing cross functional processes and procedures, systems, information flow and management. This role involves working closely with other key leaders to ensure the agency goals and objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This position manages and mentors a dynamic team, responsible for Properties/Facilities, Logistics, Quality Management and Technology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operations team (Properties/Facilities, Logistics, Quality Management and IT), fostering a positive and collaborative work environment which models our core values of Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy.
  • Analyze current operational policies and procedures, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary.
  • Develop an operational plan, incorporating goals and objectives, which lead towards attainment of agencies strategic plan.
  • Partner with Leadership team to ensure annual goals and long-term strategic goals are developed and implemented in the field for operational efficiency, enhanced productivity and to achieve excellence in service.
  • In partnership with Finance, create and manage a department budget and assist in the design of improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity.
  • Participate in board meetings, committee meetings and community events as needed.

Technology

  • Oversee technology infrastructure, ensuring it seamlessly supports the needs of the agency.
  • Work collaboratively with IT Manager and contractors to identify and implement new technology solutions to increase efficiencies agency wide.
  • Oversee the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and maintain a safe digital environment.

Properties/Facility Management

  • Work collaboratively with Property Manager to ensure all agency facilities are equipped to provide a comfortable, productive, and safe environment for staff and clients.
  • Oversee facility renovations, upgrades and construction projects.

Quality Management

  • Work collaboratively with Quality Manager to implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure services meet established standards.
  • Oversee compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and codes.

Logistics

  • Work collaboratively with Logistics Manager to optimize efficiency and safety of Logistics operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Project Management, or related field;
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in operational project management or in related area;
  • Expertise in computer technology and software, including Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and other project management programs;
  • Experience reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong ability to lead by example, foster a positive work environment and model core values;
  • Experience in the non-profit sector preferred;
  • Self-directed with strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift to 30 pounds
  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching are required.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
