A Day in the Life:The Home of the Innocents, Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center is a skilled nursing facility providing short-term, long-term, and respite care for pediatric residents with diverse medical, developmental, and physical needs, including congenital abnormalities, traumatic injuries, developmental disabilities, self-harming behaviors, seizures, and complex respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
We are seeking an LPN or RN on our Pediatric Ventilator Unit that will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and compassionate care for residents at our Kosair for Kids Complex Center(KCC). Residents on this unit are non-verbal and dependent on assisted daily living, nutrition, and mobility.
LPN or RN Shifts Available:1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM with 24, 30, and 36-hour lines available
2nd Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with 24, 30, and 36-hour lines available, shift differential available.
LPN or RN Responsibilities:- Provide direct medical and personal care according to physician orders and professional standards
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments at shift changes and as needed
- Review resident care plans regularly to ensure adherence to physician orders
- Administer nursing interventions following established protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Supervise certified nursing assistants and offer support as necessary
- Communicate patient status to supervisors and physicians, keeping families informed of changes
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize resident health and quality of life
- Foster a positive environment respecting resident rights and privacy
- Attend departmental meetings, in-services, and training sessions
- Support nursing department in financial objectives through resourceful utilization
- Adhere to infection control practices and safety procedures consistently
LPN or RN Skills and Qualifications:- Minimum of an associate degree in nursing, required
- Unencumbered and current Commonwealth of Kentucky LPN or RN License, required
- Current CPR/Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification, required
- Minimal 6 months experience as a direct care nurse in an acute care or long-term care setting, preferred
- Cardiopulmonary nursing and/or ventilator experience, strongly preferred
- Pediatric and/or long term care experience, preferred
