Home of Guiding Hands is Hiring an Early Childhood Educator (PT) Near El Cajon, CA

Early Childhood Educator (North, South & East County San Diego)
Position Summary: Early Childhood Educators provide in-home early intervention services to children who have been diagnosed with or are at risk of a developmental disability or delay.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Reviews collateral and intake information provided.
  • Completes intake paperwork, assessments, and reports with identified children and their families.
  • Develops the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) using assigned curriculum.
  • Schedules, plans, and conducts home visits with assigned families to carry out IFSP goals.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with families and members of the Early Start team to coordinate program services.
  • Prepares, collects, and maintains educational information, files, records, case notes, and documentation from outside agencies.
  • Conducts research related to families' needs for service and provides resources and educational information.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a valid California Teaching Permit or Credential.
  • Minimum 1 year experience providing services for children with developmental disabilities or delays.
  • Experience with children between the ages of 0-3 years preferred.
Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Proficient on office equipment including computer, printer, and copy machines.
Competencies:
  • Collaborative-minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to form positive, supportive, and professional working relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to ensure accuracy of program documents and paperwork.
  • Ability to manage work time efficiently and meet deadlines without close supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Valid California Drivers license, safe driving record, and have been licensed to drive at least 2 years.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Must obtain CPR/FA certification within 60 days of hire.
