Home Market Foods, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Manager, Site Engineer Near South Windsor, CT

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

The Senior Manager, Site Engineer will manage the engineering, and construction of new production facilities, or the modification of existing facilities. As a key member of the Process Engineering Department, the Senior Manager, Site Engineer will have the opportunity to provide their project management expertise to a dynamic and growing organization. This opportunity will be based in our South Windsor, CTmanufacturing facility

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage implementation of specific engineering projects
  • Conduct preliminary inspections and studies of a proposed construction site
  • Determine the scope of preparatory work that needs to be completed before construction
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with internal specifications and external standards or regulations
  • Develop and enact site safety standards and ensure that personnel adhere to these standards throughout the construction process
  • Coordinate the work of contractors/subcontractors during renovation or construction of facilities
  • Assign responsibilities and build schedules based on project specifications
  • Ensure that project elements are completed on time
  • Review project plans, proposals, and objectives
  • Design and conduct tests to determine project progress
  • Ensure contractors are following blueprints and adhering to material specification guidelines.
  • Compile estimates for workers and material requirements for project development
  • Prepare proposal documents and presentations
  • Analyze and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Recommend plan and schedule changes when necessary
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local authorities permit approvals
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities
  • Report progress of the project to upper management
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • 5-10 years in depth knowledge of engineering, technology, building, construction, and design required
  • Superb project management skills along with expertise in interpreting and analyzing blueprints required
  • Proven experience with establishing priorities, working independently, and proceeding with objectives without consistent supervision required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment where a broad range of tasks may be required
  • Must be able to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Will be required to communicate with colleagues, contractors, and visitors.
  • Will communicate accurate information to colleagues regularly.
  • Will be required to occasionally move about inside the office to access meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Will consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
  • 20% travel
  • Must have camera on when attending all meetings
  • The noise level in the office environment is typically moderate.
  • Exposure to approx. 85 decibel sound while on plant floor (appropriate ear protection will be provided)
  • Required availability to work some off hours including weekends pending projects
  • Company provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn while on the production floor
