Position Summary

The house supervisor works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure

• Active nursing license recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• CPR required.
• 10 years nursing experience with outstanding leadership, management, and clinical ability have been demonstrated.
• Previous post-acute care experience preferred.

• Quality communication skills (oral and written).
• Clear speech and good hand / eye coordination.
• Requires sitting or standing for long periods and may include lifting up to 25 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required.
• Calculations, manipulating numbers, interpreting numbers, analyzing, forecasting, assessing / evaluation, explaining / teaching, attention to detail, problem solving / reasoning and high degree of accuracy
• Ability to see, hear and verbally communicate.
• Emotional stability to deal with crisis situation, stress of self and others.
• Vision perception sufficient to read, write, use computer, correctly identify and assess patients, and staff members. Hearing sufficient to discern audible pages, monitors, vital signs, and telephone communications.
• Potential injury from equipment (needle stick, cut, etc.) and patients. Potential exposures form infectious material and or patients, radiation and chemotherapy.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess plan and provide the nursing care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient assigned to the medical / surgical units.
• Weekend, shift work, and holidays as deemed necessary by manager to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
