Holy Trinity: An Episcopal School serving children in Pre-School through 8^th Grade on two campuses in Bowie and Glenn Dale, Maryland is welcoming qualified applicants for a High School Prep (Middle School) Learning Specialist position. The Learning Specialist assignment begins in late August and ends in June.

The successful candidate will possess a love of teaching, enthusiasm about using a variety of techniques and strategies for learning, a commitment to student-centered education and a willingness to be an integral and active member of a vibrant teaching and learning community. The Learning Specialist’s instruction will be informed by current research in math and reading assessment and instruction. Knowledge of Orton-Gillingham and/or other methods for providing targeted instruction is required. The Learning Specialist works closely with classroom teachers, administration, parents, and students to provide support either individually or in small groups, as needed. The Learning Specialist will have experience interpreting psycho-educational evaluations and standardized testing scores. Also, the Learning Specialist will develop and implement individual student academic support plans. Candidates should have a degree in special education, speech-language pathology or other related field of study and a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
