Responsibilities:

• Directs and participates in the day-to-day resident activities
• Provides for the delivery of professional nursing care in accordance with state licensure laws
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and facility guidelines that govern the nursing center
• Ensures that resident care policies and procedures are followed by nursing service personnel in compliance with facility Quality Standards
• Completes and/or assures completion of required forms
• Monitors medical equipment for adequacy and safety and request service for maintenance and repairs
• Identifies resident care problems and concerns, contributes to short-term goal

-setting and nursing approaches on the interdisciplinary care plan

• Ensures that nursing care approaches are communicated to and implemented by nursing unit staff and communicates with nursing staff throughout the shift
• Ensures that medications and controlled substances are ordered, received, administered, documented, stored and disposed of in accordance with state regulations and facility policies and procedures
• Ensures treatments are administered and documented in accordance with state regulations and facility policies and procedures
• Investigates incidents and completes incident/accident reports in accordance with facility standards, policies and procedures
• Provides input to the performance appraisal for nursing assistants
• Provides on-going constructive feedback to Nursing Assistants
• Orients new hires in the nursing department
• Responds to any and all call lights in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing, commensurate with the position.
• Strong clinical skills and a passion for providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.
