Job description

Under the direction of the summer childcare supervisor, the childcare assistant is responsible for helping with childcare services for Holy Spirit's School summer program. Hours for workers may vary depending on the need for staff and workers must be flexible to work with students from ages 5-14.

• Must pass a criminal background check and complete Diocesan Safe Environment training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School. A staff member may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care.
Interacts with and cares for children.

• Ensures the area is a safe and clean environment.

Efficiently redirect inappropriate student behaviors and implement the program discipline system to effectively monitor and guide proper student behavior.
Checking students in and signing them out to approved adults.

• After-school care workers will need to communicate with the supervisor as well as parents regarding any problems that may arise during after-school care hours.
• Understands the procedures in reporting suspected child abuse, child neglect, molestation cases.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
