Job Description

Holy Family High School is currently seeking qualified candidates for a College Counselor position for the 2022-2023 school year.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to serve in a student advisement and advocacy capacity in fostering the attainment of student educational goals.

Qualified candidates should be able to provide college advising, academic advising, in addition to social and emotional support to students in grades 9-12, through the lens of the Catholic Church.

Ideal Candidate will demonstrate :

Write letters of recommendations for students on his / her caseload

Provide effective support and guidance to students', parents and high school staff

Effectively manage a caseload of students in grades 11-12 providing a range of counseling services and support, with the primary focus on college counseling.

Be familiar with the college admissions process and college choices.

Facilitate meetings with college admissions representatives who visit our campus and organize meetings between college representatives and our scholars.

Collaborate on the compilation of an annual Profile of the School, as well as information on grade distributions in junior and senior courses and courses offered at our school.

Maintains and disseminates information about standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT.

Keeps track of college admissions decisions and statistics.

Minimum Qualifications :

Preference given to Catholic candidate

Must hold a Bachelor's Degree, some preference for Master's or higher

Experience working as a counselor in a high school setting

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree or other advanced degree preferred

3-5 years of experience in managing and leading in a high performing organization.

Highly proficient with MS Excel.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.

Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills.

Ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently.

Strong team player, with willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
