Holy Family Day Home is Hiring a Family Support Service Coordinator Near San Francisco, CA

Job Hours: Full-time 40 hours/week (Non-Exempt, in-person)
Supervised By: Program Director
Benefits: Full health, dental, PTO benefits, and annual bonus $1,500-$2,500.

Holy Family Day Home is a 501(c) (3) organization celebrating over 100 years of providing high-quality childcare and family support services in San Francisco. Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality, early education and care in a stable and nurturing environment, thereby offering the children of working families a sound foundation for lifelong development, continuing a tradition established by the Sisters of the Holy Family.

HFDH currently serves 125 children between the ages of 2 years and 6yrs.

Scope of Work: Family Support Services Coordinator is a member of the Program Team. The Family Support Services Coordinator in partnership with other clinical consultants, providers, and staff, will ensure that HFDH families have access to IEP/developmental services necessary to ensure the welfare of their children. In addition, PEA provides educational resources and referral services to the Spanish-speaking community in our program. This is an entry-level position. The professional ethics of confidentiality, discretion, and good judgment are vital to this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B. A. degree and 1 years of experience in Child Development, Mental Health, Special Education or related fields or A. A. degree and 2 years of experience in Child Development, Mental Health, Special Education or related fields
  • Experience working with low-income and/or homeless population preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of special education: the IEP process, 504s, and ISPs.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child development and assessment of young children’s social and emotional functioning preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, MS, and Office.
  • Experience working with people from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Must pass Livescans fingerprinting process and background check.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Under direction of the Program Director manage the IEP/IFSP process for HFDH children from start to end.
  • Meeting with parents/guardians in conjunction with other staff to interpret ASQ’s, parent conferences, IEP meetings, and assessments when needed.
  • Provide referrals, advocate, and serve as liaison for additional family services such as Support for Families with Special Rights.
  • Support teachers and center to find resources (instructional materials, adaptive equipment, etc.) to help children flourish in classrooms.
  • Work effectively and appropriately with teachers, administration, parents and consultants/specialists, OT, mental health services.
  • Coordinate occasional parent and staff trainings on child development, special education and early intervention topics.
  • Distribute, collect, file and analyze all Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ’s) and appropriate data into COCOA.
  • Enter child and family notes into the Procare database.
  • Work cooperatively with parents, staff and third party consultants to meet the individual needs of children and their families.
  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations pertaining to special education.
  • Support families with completing applications for individual service plans (IEPS/ ISFP’s) and advocacy.
  • Provide Spanish translation support to Family Services Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
