* Prepares and administers medications as ordered by the physician

* Administers professional nursing services within the scope of practice for a RN

* Identifies resident concerns or problems, recognizes changes in condition, performs appropriate assessments

* Practices and monitors department safety and infection control policies and procedures

* Utilizes proper body mechanics in lifting, positioning and transferring residents

* Receives report from nursing assistants at the end of the shift on the care given assigned residents

* Gives report on the condition/progress of residents to the on-coming shift

* Documents incident occurrences of residents/staff and reports to the Team Leader/Director

* Completes necessary charting as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation procedures

* Follows, enforces and evaluates Resident Right policies per handbook

* Assists in the orientation of new staff as necessary

* Participates in employee evaluation by providing information on Performance Appraisals of nursing assistants to the DON

* Charge nurse for the night shift
