Holy Cross Ministries is Hiring a Community Health Worker/Medical Debt Legal Advocate Near Salt Lake, UT

Holy Cross Ministries is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) / Medical Debt Legal Advocate (MDLA).

Full-Time

Competitive Salary DOE (Ranging from $20.00 - $23.00)

Responsibilities include:

· Assist clients in completing forms and applications for government benefits such as Medicaid, Emergency Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP Benefits, and Social Security Benefits, among others.

· Guide clients through the complex healthcare system, acting as a bridge between clients and medical staff to address all patient concerns and resolve disputes with healthcare billing departments.

· Aid clients in finding suitable healthcare providers based on their needs and connect them to financial and legal resources.

· Assist with medical bills by reviewing for accuracy and applying for financial assistance. This includes reading medical charts, bills, and other relevant documents.

· Provide assistance to clients in understanding and managing health insurance plans, explaining processes from Medicaid enrollment to medical billing and accessing various social resources.

· Collaborate with all professionals involved in patient care to ensure that patient needs and wishes are met, particularly when they are unable to communicate for themselves.

· Maintain daily data entry of client services and interactions with different organizations.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

· Bilingual in Spanish and English

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Exceptional attention to detail.

· Capacity to handle a high-volume workload.

· Balancing of long-term and short-term projects.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Adaptability to changing environments.

· Ability to work independently.

This position requires flexibility to work at different clinics and/or office depending on organization’s needs, as well as attending evening community events, tabling events, and occasional weekend events.

This is a full-time position, benefits eligible. Salary is competitive and based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
