Positions Supervised:
· Facilities Maintenance, Cleaning, and Grounds Crew
Primary Responsibilities:
The facilities manager is responsible for ensuring the HAC facilities, pools and grounds are maintained and improved in such a manner that the organization’s programs and mission can be carried out with excellence at all times. This includes overseeing maintenance operations, long-term planning, asset management, project management, contractor coordination, preventative maintenance, budget and facilities team leadership.
Specific Responsibilities:
Essential Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate in an effective way in order to motivate and support the facilities team, and other HAC team members.
2. Ability to communicate with the management team to ensure coordination of efforts.
3. Ability to analyze information, plan and make decisions based on facility needs and budget considerations.
4. Ability to motivate and coordinate employees, as well effectively conduct performance reviews and handle disciplinary issues that may be encountered.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
6. Technical Education/Training preferred (Plumbing, electrical, HVAC)
7. Project management experience required.
8. Construction and/or general contractor experience preferred.
9. Demonstrated managerial experience including prior experience in a commercial/ institutional facility.
10. 4-year degree or Trade Education/Training or equivalent work experience
11. Previous Aquatics Facility experience preferred.
12. Ability to achieve Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes, but is not limited to:
· Ascending/descending stairs, positioning and use of a ladder or lifts over 8 feet high
and use of routine custodial/maintenance equipment/machinery.
· Ability to work at heights above eight feet and work in an aquatic atmosphere. The ability to swim preferred.
