The Project Manager is a full-time position that is responsible for management of major construction projects in Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari. This Manager interacts with all areas and departments to ensure completion of major capital projects on time and within budget 

Project Managers are also eligible for our new skill-based pay program! This compensation program allows our Part & Full-Time Maintenance Team to increase their rate of pay by developing their knowledge and skills at our parks through the completion of certifications and cross-training in other departments.

Requirements

  • Daily management of major construction projects, including:
  1. Daily jobsite visits and observations
  2. Manage relationships with contractors
  3. Manage daily jobsite logistics
  4. Answer questions in the field
  • Overall utility management for the organization, including:
  1. Record keeping and utility drawings
  2. Manage and update GIS software
  3. Monitor utility usage and address any anomalies with internal and external parties to address appropriately
  4. Own company utility locating, including training others on proper procedures
  5. Manage an effective response for urgent equipment or utility failures
  6. Lead all utility repairs, involving external vendors and internal departments as needed
  • Review and provide input on project budgets. Participate in real-time cost analysis during design process
  • Own environmental inspections for the organization and participate in environmental compliance committee
  • Participate in design process review
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Use survey equipment to layout projects
  • Learn new tasks and skills at the parks and attend company-sponsored training off-site, if needed
  • Maintain project documentation, including as-built drawings

  • Other duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to, assisting in the carpenter or Building Maintenance Shops as needed 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of general construction experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience is preferred
  • Theme Park experience is preferred 
  • Have an understanding of building systems (fire protection, electrical, HVAC, plumbing) and how they work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software programs
  • Ability to make good decisions on repairs in time sensitive circumstances
  • Ability to use math to perform work using scaled drawings and use survey instruments
  • Ability to climb structures to inspect, maintain, and repair
  • Ability to clearly write daily inspection and maintenance reports in the English language
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Ability to wear PPE
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work full-time and weekends
  • Acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background check
