Now hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Holiday Inn Express/Hilton Garden Inn Olathe!

The schedule for this position is Thursday-Monday, with days off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Shifts are from 9am-5pm, however every other Saturday will be 12pm-8pm.

Responsibilities include managing hotel equipment, systems and building components, including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, pools, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.

Pay starts at $18.00 and is based on experience.

DAY TO DAY REQUIREMENTS:
* Repair broken equipment throughout the hotel.

* Maintain outdoor landscaping for both properties, including snow removal (sidewalks and entryways only as parking lots are outsourced) and trash removal.

* Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.

* Complete PMs on rooms, equipment and building as required.

* Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel.

* Assist in delivering and set-up of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.

* Communicate with Maintenance Executive on projects as assigned.

* Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner and report results in Quore, our computer maintenance program.

* Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.

* Pool & spa, painting, electrical, plumbing, drywall, hydronic or experience with building repair is a plus!

* Schedule dependability, professional communication, positive attitude and basic computer knowledge are important.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior experience preferred in hotels and will consider apartments, multi-unit housing or building maintenance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English effectively and professionally with other hotel departments, peers, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
