Education/Experience

High school diploma or General Education Certificate is required. Must be minimum age to serve alcohol in state of establishment and able to pass TIPs/CARE Training.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Must be able to speak, understand, read and write the English language.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively in a busy and public atmosphere.
  • Must have the ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.
  • Must read and understand the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be able to follow policy and perform in appearance and behavior.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Reliable and honest.
  • Must be able to lift heavy food trays up to 25 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know and live the mission and values of the hotel brand company.
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.
  • Welcome and greet our guests using our 10-5 rule.
  • 10 feet- acknowledge the guest with eye contact and a smile
  • 5 feet- make a friendly gesture or greeting
  • Directly responsible for Overall Guest Satisfaction and Applicable Customer Service/Food and Beverage Scores.
  • Report all instances of guest dissatisfaction to management for resolution and tracking.
  • Practice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow employees. Use wet floor signs, as required. Use personal protective equipment. Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to the person-in-charge immediately.
  • Become a walking menu and food expert. You should be able to knowledgeably speak about any menu item with ease, with the ability to up sell or make good recommendations.
  • Be aware of current house specials and 86’d items to bring up to the guests attention immediately.
  • Properly open and serve wine bottles.
  • Ask for identification to anyone who looks under the age of 40.
  • Properly mix and serve alcoholic beverages with the proper garnish.
  • Take orders and properly enter them into our POS (point-of-sale) system.
  • Remain attentive of guests needs throughout their stay. Refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables, making sure they have silverware/napkins, etc.
  • Ensure great food quality and presentation before bringing items to the table.
  • Offer dessert and coffee, or after-dinner cocktails.
  • Accept forms of payment and cash reconciliation. All servers are responsible for their own Bank.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Must maintain proper grooming standards from the time you get to work to the time you leave.
  • Maintain a complete bar setup, with stocked garnishes and supplies.
  • Stop serving guests when they are noticeably intoxicated.
  • Complete liquor inventories.
  • Serve the proper amount of alcohol per drink.
  • Properly trained for both local and state liquor laws.
  • Must be able to take dining table when needed.
  • Create a relationship with your guests. Find out where they’re from, what brings them in to our restaurant, what they think about their experience, etc.

Working Conditions

Public, business atmosphere in which temperatures may vary within reason of indoor climates. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. may occur and with assistance, moving up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $12.00 - $12.50 per hour
