Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Regional Dispatch Manager will report directly to the region SVP and have dotted lines into the regional GM’s to lead dispatch teams within the Ready Mix Concrete organizations in the Northeast and Great Lakes
East Regions to increase driver and operational efficiencies while supporting a growing customer centric culture. It is also expected to provide leadership and training to handle complex customer situations related to the order placement and scheduling processes. Candidates must possess the ability to train and coach on how to facilitate communication between the plant, field, drivers and dispatch center with accuracy and timeliness, all while managing the day-to-day activities within distribution center within the framework of established policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Working closely with the Region SVP and regional ready mix GM’s to drive operational improvement
  • Develops operational goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with company vision/strategy
  • Offer well thought out advice to sales, QC and operations departments for the betterment of the organization
  • Utilize available technology and encourage its use by supervisors and dispatchers
  • Training and coaching the teams to understand and focus on how to safely improve their KPI’s
  • Training and coaching the teams on how to efficiently work with other departments within the organization
  • Intervenes in complex customer service situations where dialogue with the customer has escalated to high management levels within the customer organizations or where issues are beyond the expertise of Dispatch Center staff. Counsels and negotiates with customers to develop mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Works with the Regional Sales team to enhance the communications and service leading to increased sales and improved service
  • Analyze customer service related information and evaluate the results to choose the best resolution and alternatives to customer service challenges, and to identify opportunities to improve the customer service experience. Works closely with Commercial Manager and Territory Sales Managers, Plant Managers, Materials Performance (Quality) and Credit Collections personnel
  • Lead and manage front-line / professional support teams to peak effectiveness and efficiency in order to deliver maximum results
  • Fully accountable to leverage regional market expertise to propose solutions for changing conditions, complex/emergency situations with speed and accuracy
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent experience.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Business or Construction Management
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of dispatch/customer service experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated good judgment and discretion Strong organizational skills with focus on accuracy
  • Able to follow established processes and/or document new processes
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines all the while being detailed-oriented
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to function as part of a team
  • Works cooperatively with other employees, customers, clients and the public
  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities at one time and must be able to deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and demonstrated problem-solving skills as well as excellent time management and project management skills
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) may be desired
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
