ABOUT THE ROLE
Ready Mix Plant Operator/Batcher Position (Location: Twin-Cities area)
Individual must batch products using computer or manual controls using proper mix and making necessary raw material adjustments and perform daily plant Maintenance, while providing excellent customer service to our internal as well as external customers.
Aggregate Industries operates seven regional construction materials businesses in the United States. The core business of producing crushed stone and sand & gravel is enhanced by downstream operations that produce ready mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing businesses are also in operation, creating true, vertically integrated divisions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Essential Functions:
  • Using computer or manual controls, efficiently batches concrete with proper mix and making necessary raw material adjustments as directed by the QC department. Understands the proper use of each mix design.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day plant maintenance which includes: manual lifting, shoveling, lubrication of plant components and minor plant adjustments
  • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers.
  • Effectively communicates with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Perform daily plant and equipment inspections
  • Able to prioritize work
  • Work with plant management to identify problems and potential problems that need to be addressed
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures
  • Report any unsafe condition, accidents or incidents to supervisor immediately
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Ability to work safely and properly follow all company policies
  • Must have a valid and current Class B driver’s license or obtain within the first year.
  • Ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer and mathematics skills
  • Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Physical requirements:
    • Sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time
    • Climb on equipment, stairs, and ladders as needed
    • Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground conditions) and enclosed spaces
  • Work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed which will include Saturdays and overnights
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
