Overview
PURPOSE
This position is accountable for the safe and efficient operations of the production of shingle flake in Muskegon MI. Responsibilities include oversight of 3-4 employees, daily production activities, operation of wheel loader and skid steer, operating hammer mill, and conducting routine maintain on all equipment.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Maintain daily communication with the Facility Manager to review production, plant equipment maintenance for scheduling of repairs, production needs, and all safety issues.
- Supervise, guide, direct, evaluate, and train assigned personnel.
- Support team members by operating in the field.
- Ensure the condition of work areas are above compliance with safe operating policies and practices.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings with personnel.
- Prepare daily report of shifts showing personnel assigned, tons produced, equipment downtime, monthly production tonnage, in and out bound loads.
- Participate in and lead staff meetings, training programs, and other seminars.
- Responsible for complying with environmental standards which include dust control, noise, and related elements.
- Maintain adequate inventory of all finished products based on sales forecast by size and month.
- Maintain areas of responsibility in a neat and orderly manner, displaying and promoting good housekeeping practices.
- Monitor production process flow rate and direct employees in optimizing product quality and throughput.
- Observe and direct product stockpile location.
- Maintain hourly employee payroll time sheets.
- Assist with short and long term planning.
- Assist with maintenance planning and execution of projects.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
- Process loads into WFMS and SAP.

Work with all departments and employees within the facilityInteract with Alpena plantAs a member of the leadership team, represent the site to customers, vendors, and other external sources
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Additional Education Preferred: Associates Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Technical or Business
Required Work Experience: 3 years related experience
Required Training/Certifications: mechanical repair and maintenance background preferred
Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel
Travel Requirements: 5%

- Required to work some evenings and weekends
- Supervisory knowledge or experience
- Wheel loader and skid steer experience
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
