Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Safety, the Part-Time Bus Driver is responsible for shuttle service for Hofstra University patrons. The shuttle will transport all members of the Hofstra Community along a designated route. Bus Drivers are required to wear the proscribed uniform while on duty. Must be available for overtime as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Transports Hofstra students, visitors, and other members of the campus community along designated route.
- Responsible for safely transporting people to and from their destinations.
- Maintains a clean bus and conducts pre trip inspections to ensure the safety of the vehicle and passengers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Hours: Assigned shifts are selected by seniority as per the collective bargaining agreement. Newly hired Part-Time Bus Drivers will be required to work three eight (8) hours shifts per week.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience.
- Possess Commercial CDL Class B license, with air brakes, passenger endorsement (no restrictions) and no violations.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Must be a service oriented individual capable of interacting with a diverse student body, visitors, and other members of the campus community.

Salary/Salary Range
$24.08 - $31.63 per hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
- Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.
