HOFFMASTER is Hiring an EHS Intern Near Sparks, NV

Hoffmaster Group Inc. is seeking an EHS Intern to support their manufacturing facility in Sparks, NV. The primary responsibilities of the EHS Intern will be project work to support the EHS policies/procedures of the facility. This position is also centered on the ongoing development of the other safety and general training needs including new hire orientation.Essential Job Duties:Support the required EHS standards to ensure the environmental, health, safety and security of employees.Assist in creating a culture of injury-free attitudes within the plant team by demonstrating honest, genuine care and passion for safety that is demonstrated by the EHS Manager.Conduct plant workplace inspections and audits to identify work hazards and exposure. Follow through with corrective actions and write work orders where appropriate. Develop & conduct EHS safety training for the workforce as needed.Participate in employee safety committee meetings.Complete safety projects as assigned by EHS Manager.Assist in the development of Plant Safety Rules.Assist with the monitoring, recording, and publishing of plant safety statistics.Continuously improve and add to the training process.Manage the SDS Database.Follow all Food Safety, GMP and HACCP Guidelines. Requirements:Pursing a degree in EHS.Decision-making skills and the ability to work independently, using independent judgment.Oral and written communication skills are required to interact with facility level management, staff, and employees.Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Hoffmaster Group Inc’s internship program is designed to provide students practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment, bridging the gap between the knowledge gained in school and it’s real-world application in actual work settings. Hours will be Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm and pay starts at $18 / hour.
