Primary Purpose of the Role
Responsible for developing and implementing strategic corporate purchasing strategies with a focus on MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) and indirect Procurement while meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Leads projects in support of alternative source qualification, development, value improvement and problem resolution. Supports cross functional partners in problem solving and timely issue resolution regarding their specific commodities/services.
Essential Job Duties

• Develop and apply an in-depth knowledge of company strategies and HGI's overall industry.
• Manage/Direct Maintenance overall spend to achieve functional and corporate goals and objectives.
• Negotiating contracts/payment terms, reviewing/approving invoices, and controlling costs of supplies and materials.
• Responsible for purchase of assigned materials, supplies, services, and equipment, meeting established standards for price, delivery and quality.
• Identifies, develops, and implements opportunities to leverage expenditures and streamline processes in order to reduce total cost of procurement.
• Develops and implements special projects/programs resulting in improved cost, quality, delivery, and/or service.
• Maintains supplier relations at sales representative and middle management levels.
• Develops an in-depth knowledge of suppliers, industries, technologies, and manufacturing processes for assigned areas.
• Expedites PO deliveries as needed.
• Responsible for developing and reporting of performance metrics.
• Assists Procurement Managers in development of annual budgets.
• Resolves day-to-day issues within Hoffmaster Group, Inc and with vendors.
• Other Reporting as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of procurement practices and techniques required
• Preferred knowledge of MRO and Indirect Procurement
• Significant practical work experience will also be considered
• Knowledge of contract law preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or relevant field
• Preferred Associates Degree in business or technical field
