Summary of Job: As a Warehouse Parts Runner, you will help Hoffmann Brothers Service Tech Team with a variety of essential tasks, while also learning more about the company and its needs as a whole.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Parts Runner position is fast paced and self-motivating and includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Daily Duties:

  • Heaters/material/parts runs to the techs in the field (you would also be responsible for taking any truck re-stock that has been staged with you)
  • Restock material that has been brought back by Techs (be sure to utilize the check in sheet if it is a water heater and be sure to give the material sheets if they are found in one of the bins to one of the Warehouse Coordinators)
  • Restock water heater bins (installation kit) as needed.
  • Dump the trash hopper daily (be careful of toilets and watch for any sharp-edged piping and scrap being placed in here, use caution when dumping)
  • Assist with pulling truck stock as needed.
  • Running of municipal permits (if needed see Shanan or Sean)
  • Fill orders for Plumbing/Electric/HVAC Install and stage with appropriate job number and instructions. 

Weekly Duties: 

  • Load rock buckets (should have full pallets loaded) be sure to cover these with a heavy tarp and secure it.
  • Reload red rock bins and stack 2 high.
  • Keep rock storage shoot full (let warehouse coordinators know if it is low).
  • Maintain/organize two storage containers and let a Warehouse Coordinator know what needs to be ordered.
    • Pay attention to straw, grass seed, shovels, and rakes.
      • There always needs to be 3 shovels and 3 rakes.
  • Empty dump trailer as needed. Let the Warehouse Coordinators know so they can contact the correct team members. (this will ensure PO is issued and the appropriate jobs can be assigned).
  • Clean and organize the lower yard and dispose of any items that are damaged.
    • Clean and stack trashcans, plywood, and buckets.
    • Sweep and hose down pavement and trash cans as needed.
  • Spot check the spare plumbing, HVAC, and electrical vehicles for trash ad fill fuel as needed.
  • Training room detail as follows:
    • Clean out trash, boxes, and sweep floors, as necessary.
    • Stock prefab material bins.
    • Verify all tools/toolboxes are put away and toolboxes are locked.
    • Declutter any areas necessary and organize as needed.

  • Hard working, reliable, responsible, maintains a team-oriented attitude, and willing to learn. 
  • All employees of Hoffmann Brothers must consider safety as their primary job. General knowledge of safe working practices and federal/state OSHA requirements is required as applicable.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

To adequately perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop hands to finger, handle controls; hear, and talk. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and up. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons. The work environment will subject employees to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.
