The primary responsibilities are to oversee Quality Assurance efforts across all studios, market sectors, and regional offices and to assist with the writing, editing, and coordination of Project Manuals. This encompasses a variety of building and construction types that include Healthcare, Higher Education, Multi-family Residential, Hospitality, Civic/Public Safety, Commercial, Retail, and Corporate Workplace projects. A successful Candidate will initially provide Quality Assurance (QA) reviews for all projects at various milestones throughout the project lifecycle to verify compliance with code, constructability and best practices are being met. Ultimately, this person will build a QA department of several individuals to assist all offices in both QA reviews as well as specification assistance as outlined below. This detail-oriented individual will regularly update the office master specifications, and prepare, maintain, and update master sections developed specifically for certain market sectors or building types. Additionally, they will coordinate with the teams throughout the office on specification education to support teams in the development of their project manuals. This individual will stay at the forefront of specification technology and BIM integration. This includes knowledge of LOA’s, LOD’s, Assembly Codes, Ominclass, keynotes and the role they play in Virtual Design and Construction to assist the team to create outline specifications that are a reflection of an integrated BIM model.

Essential Responsibilities:
Education/Experience: It is preferred that this individual has a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Construction Management, plus 15-20 years of experience in the design & construction industry. Prior experience with public client projects, especially working in U.S. government master specification systems and experience in design-build, developer driven focus is a plus. Experience with Veterans Administration and MATOC type projects is also desirable.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Architectural registration required with current license, NCARB registration preferred. Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certification is desirable. LEED Green Associate Accreditation (or similar sustainability-based accreditation) desired. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Qualifications/Skills: Successful candidate will have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet all deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, communicating collaboratively in a team atmosphere of Project Architects, Project Managers, Clients, and Contractors. Candidate must be proficient in MasterSpec, Microsoft Office software, and familiar with ARCOM MasterSpec library. Candidate must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, Bluebeam, and Newforma. Recent experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and eSpec, and BSD SpecLink is desirable.
