Pay Rate: $40.83 per hour.

Description:

The EMCS Technician performs journeyman level work in the repair, maintenance, service, modification, troubleshooting, inspection, and monitoring of the operation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and associated plumbing, electrical, mechanical, EMS (Energy Management Control System) and controls systems.

• Responsible for monitoring and adjusting the full range of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment by means of an energy management system as well as hands-on work.

• Writes, modifies, codes, analyzes, enhances, and debugs EMS computer control software programming and trains others in the use of controls software programming.

• Sets up, troubleshoots, repairs, tests, and calibrates electronic components for EMS computer control.

• Troubleshoots, maintains, modifies, and repairs heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and equipment including direct expansion and hydronic systems, fans and fan motors, pumps and pump motors, electric and pneumatic controls, and associated safety, overcurrent, and other protection devices.

• Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.

• Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions.

• Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.

• Must be able to work independently.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school, supplemented by completion of a Union, private (in-house), military, or trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work.

• Four years’ experience working as an HVAC mechanic in a commercial, industrial, or large facilities environment, with minimum two years of EMS (Energy Management Control System) or control systems experience relevant to proprietary EMS software programs and general electronics controls related to HVAC equipment.

• EPA Universal HVAC Certification.

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.

• Must have knowledge of Metasys, Honeywell, and LON controls.

• Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.

Security Requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain Ft Gregg-Adams, Virginia installation clearance. Real ID compliance.

Driving Requirements:

A valid state driver license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by HMG’s insurance company.
