Summary: Assist pharmacists in the preparing of pharmacy orders and all pharmacy related functions and services in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, and within the standard of applicable regulatory agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a certified Pharmacy Technician
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable role.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with IV's, compounding, mixing and order entry.
• Familiar with purchasing and inventory management.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills (verbal and written).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain standards of all applicable regulatory agencies and assure compliance.

• Assist pharmacists in preparing of pharmacy orders.
• Compounding of IV medications.
• Assume responsibility for all drug and supplies inventory, including ordering, restocking, tracking recalls, maintaining minimum quantities, returns, etc.
• Oversight of the clean room environment consistent with regulatory regulations .
• Prepare orders for shipment, track third-party deliveries, troubleshoot failed or failing deliveries by third parties.
• Abide by authority of the Pharmacist in the abscense of the Chief Pharmacist.
• Maintain or update current patient medical record.

• Participate in new patient conferences (Huddle)

• Assist with patient file maintenance.
• Assist in all daily departmental activities that maintain workflow when needed.
• Prepare orders for shipment, track third-party deliveries, troubleshoot failed or failing deliveries by third parties.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.

• Knowledge of all HMES and HIT services.

• Perform assessments/reassessments of each patient's care or service needs throughout the patient's contact with the organization.

• Speak with customers by phone or in person and receive orders for delivery, pick-up, discontinuance, maintenance or changes in service.

• Educate patients with relation to their home medical equipment to facilitate safe and effective equipment use and desired care, treatment and service outcomes.
• Promote safe, effective patient and organizational environments and equipment use.
• Listen to and resolve service complaints appropriate to scope of practice.

• Respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
• Participate in traditional and e-learning programs including Continuing Education, in-services, etc.

• Complete required annual and monthly training courses.

• Perform other duties or special projects when necessary or assigned.
