You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:

• Separate and process seed samples with an emphasis of maintaining sub-sample identity and consistency in sample preparation.

• Prepare growth media, buffers and stock solutions for the culture of microorganisms following specific written procedures.

• Assist in conducting seed health testing in traditional assays and molecular based assays following established written work instructions.

• Plant and maintain test seedlings under controlled environment.

• Must be comfortable working in a laboratory setting governed by formal, written procedures that must be strictly followed.

• Complete assigned tasks in a timely, efficient, safe and effective manner.

• Participate in the inventory management of materials and chemical products.

• Maintain laboratories in a clean, safe and organized manner.

• Participate in monthly Safety Training and Meetings.

To be considered, you will need: 

• Associate degree required.
• B.S. Degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science or biology is preferred, however, candidates with equivalent working experience will be considered.

• A working knowledge of plant disease and seed health testing experience on vegetable seeds will be an asset.

• This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, as they will be part of a team.
