Hitachi Energy is Hiring a Project Director Near Raleigh, NC

General information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Director to support our growing North America HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) business.The HVDC team provides solutions which help enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact.The Project Director is responsible for the successful conclusion of EPC projects.This key role oversees project teams, who coordinate activities to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget, to a high standard. As well as provide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. Ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies. Responsibilities:

Ensuring the core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions whilst caring for your colleagues and the business Ensures customer collaboration and satisfaction Effectively plan, schedule, monitor and control activities necessary for predictable fulfilment of planned activities with efficient utilization of available resources. Manages the risk that effective planning and scheduling techniques would uncover and mitigate that risk accordingly. Monitor and control project financials to maintain or improve contract margins, cash flow and cash generation. Understands and uses the tools to control and track project cost and cash flow. Understands legal and contractual requirements to manage projects within given boundaries Understand and manage the supply chain processes to ensure best value for the project is attained. Have a drive to positively impact project performance and work with peers, partners to achieve this. Collect customer feedback and prompts the submission of customer satisfaction survey. Communicates appropriate information to the customer and other stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding. Forthrightly presents an account of project status/issue in project reviews. Reports status/progress to customer and other stake holders with appropriate detail. Raises potential project issues to relevant stakeholders. Manage scope including the collection and management of all project issues, whether just a question, a change, or a claim, with associated negotiations and approvals. Identify, contain, and reduce risk, and ensure that all opportunities for Customer Satisfaction, Gross Margin improvement and/or Project Growth are captured and acted upon. The company will not consider any applicant based in Colorado and this job may not be performed from Colorado.

Your background:

A Bachelor's/Master's degree in an engineering field and a minimum 15 years of experience in large multi-faceted electrical projects. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Demonstrated experience in project management of large or mega projects. Experience managing projects under different contractual models (FIDIC). Good computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office & MS Project, Outlook etc. Proactive and highly organized, experience in coordinating multiple teams in remote locations. Sufficient financial knowledge and commercial skills to manage the project. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail. Influencing and Engaging skills to achieve notable outcome. Willingness to travel nationally & internationally, as needed 25% and more.
