Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Hitachi Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

This manufacturing department position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all NBG equipment and works in coordination with management & engineering staff to recover and maintain the good working condition of NBG’s equipment resources.

  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems.
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.

When accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.

Safety & Environmental:

  • Promotes a Safety First Attitude and provides safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include: Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO, Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others.
  • Performs repair while maintaining safe working conditions for associate and co-workers.

Quality:

  • Ensures equipment maintenance is completed where needed to ensure a quality product is manufactured.
  • Communicates with associates / technicians through point cards, work instruction, etc.
  • Creates necessary documents (work instructions) to help aid with training for PM Activity.
  • Understands and follows all change point procedures and completes all required documentation.

Delivery:

  • Responsible for completing PM Activity as well as accuracy of record keeping.
  • Responsible for following all direction given by shift lead and or supervisor as to priority of repairs necessary.

Productivity:

  • Ensures machine recovery and PM Activity are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshooting and repair (all phases) of equipment found at NBG .
  • Ensures equipment & tools are operational and in good repair.
  • Implement improvements through process, engineering, flow or equipment.
  • Supports new model equipment issues (Fixtures / Equipment maintenance, etc.)

Reporting:

  • Completes & updates all required documentation to communicate issues during shift and/or adjustment logs, downtime sheets, supply use, communication boards, email etc.

Key Metrics Responsibility:

  • Downtime minimization, PM plan adherence.
  • Support On time installation of new equipment Implement lean methods where possible.
  • Zero Safety Incidents, Zero Quality Defects, Zero Late Deliveries, Perfect Attendance.
  • Responding to all Radio calls for machine repairs, having to radio on at all times during the shift assigned to.

Qualifications


Preferred Skills:

  • Troubleshooting and repair (all phases: casting, machining, assembly) of equipment found at NBG or similar equipment.
  • Blue Print reading, hand tool use, fork lift operations.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships.
  • Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office programs.
  • Licensed Electrician
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines

Minimum Experienced Preferred:

  • Previous experience in related field * 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, to use hand to finger; handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.
  • Requires regular lifting of weights up to 5 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
