Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with purchasing department to ensure stock availability
- Analyze sales data and trends to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including cycle counting and stock rotation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for category management
- Utilize data collection tools and software to track inventory movement and generate reports
- Coordinate with e-commerce team to ensure accurate product listings and availability online
- Oversee warehouse management systems to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of inventory
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and sourcing of products
- Operate forklift or other equipment as needed for inventory movement
Education and/or Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years’ previous Production Control experience preferred.
· Inventory control experience preferred.
· AS400 or equivalent experience a must.
· C-Core experience preferred.
· Experience with warehouse management systems WMS.
· INFOR (XA) experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of SAP and ERP systems in manufacturing
· Working knowledge of 4 HANA SAP preferred.
Background/Skills:
· Ability to obtain and maintain forklift, tugger, and turret lift license. Loss of such licenses may result in removal from position.
· Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
· Previous knowledge of AS400 or equivalent system/Inventory Management Transactions.
· Experience with vendor material receipts.
· Experience with customer material sales processing.
· Critical thinking skills and proactive trouble shooting skills are essential.
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Process Improvement experience within a manufacturing/ logistics environment.
· Accomplish activities of planning, coordination, communication among operational areas to ensure continuous improvement within production areas.
· Devise and implement counter measures.
Special Training/Certifications:
· Ability to obtain and maintain forklift, tugger, and turret lift license.
· Inventory Management Transactions for AS400 and INFOR (XA).
· C-Core maintenance.
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to lift to 40 lbs. once per hour.
· Must be able to stand on their feet for 8 hours at a time.
· Must be able to repetitively mount/dismount a forklift.
· Must be able to perform twisting and bending repetitively.
· Must be able to sit for more than 50% of the time.
Work Environment:
· Must be able to work in an open office environment.
· Must be able to work in a warehouse environment unsupervised.
Job Responsibilities:
· Adhere to Hitachi’s Safety Policy and practices and report any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department immediately and/or to your direct supervisor.
· When required, assist with the implementation of new safety practices, and ensure all are in place and enforced.
· Comply with all Hitachi Astemo, state, federal regulatory procedures, and statutes.
· Tracking of inbound shipments of Domestic and International suppliers
· Enter receiving data into the AS400.
· Report and assist in correction of all discrepancies in supplier deliveries.
· Perform daily cycle counts on select items for inventory accuracy reporting.
· Perform weekly FG inventory cycle counts on weekends if necessary.
· Maintain records of all receipts of OEM material.
· Analyze inventory transactions and report as needed to management.
· Lead cycle count activities daily/weekly/monthly.
· Support physical inventories 4 times per year, while managing on-water transactions.
· Manage and present Top 25 physical inventory activities while working over shutdowns if necessary.
· Fix PMC errors daily.
· 3-way match scans, receipts, and on-water transactions.
· Provide all data for month-end closings to accounting.
· Manage and present weekly inventory reports.
· Enter scrap for all MCSU departments.
· Enter monthly schedules for production lines.
· Support departmental 6S activities.
