Job Title: Data DevOps Engineer 3Business Function: TechnologyLocation: Nashville, TN

The Data DevOps Engineer 3 is a pivotal role within our organization, combining the worlds of database technology and DevOps practices. As an experienced professional, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data infrastructure to ensure seamless data integration and delivery. Leveraging your expertise in data technologies and cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and high-performance solutions. With a keen eye on data security and compliance, you will proactively monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring data resilience and availability. Responsibilities:

  • Database Infrastructure Design and Deployment:
  • - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions on AWS and Azure platforms.

    - Optimize database performance and conduct regular capacity planning to accommodate business growth.

    - Evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate database technologies and tools based on project requirements.

  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
  • - Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for database schema changes, ensuring seamless and automated deployments.

    - Develop and maintain automated database deployment scripts, version control, and rollback mechanisms.

  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
  • - Create and configure monitoring systems to proactively identify database performance issues and bottlenecks.

    - Analyze performance metrics and take necessary actions to optimize database performance.

    - Conduct periodic database health checks and implement improvements to enhance reliability.

  • Security and Compliance:
  • - Implement and enforce database security best practices, ensuring data privacy and protection.

    - Participate in security audits and take actions to address vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.

    - Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and incident reporting.

  • Backup, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability:
  • - Design and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies for databases.

    - Implement and test database failover and high availability solutions to ensure business continuity.

  • Troubleshooting and Incident Management:
  • - Act as a subject matter expert in resolving complex database-related issues and incidents.

    - Collaborate with support teams to provide timely resolution to production incidents.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
  • - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

    - Share knowledge and best practices with the team to enhance overall engineering capabilities.

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

    - Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on database services on both AWS and Azure platforms.

    - Strong expertise in relational database technologies such as MSSQL/MySQL/Postgres/Oracle

    - Experience in non-relational database technologies (Redis/Mongo/AWS DocumentDb/AWS Dynamo/ etc) is strongly desired.

    - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation tasks.

    - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

    - Solid understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).

    - Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

    - Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.

    - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
