Who We Are

• Serve as the frontline staff member managing calls from community members with questions around programs by the North Carolina Department of Health.
• Manage a phone bank of voicemails and messages and properly log all calls received and redirected.
• Receive and reply to text messages from community members inquiring about the program.
• Assist community members in making an appointment with their local navigator partner and provide resources if they do not qualify for the program as outlined.
• Manage incoming phone calls in a professional and effective manner.
• Listen and manage any voice messages related to program matters.
• Text important communication to clients in relation to their program.
• Carry-out any other duties needed to support Hispanic Federation’s Medicaid Expansion Program outreach work.

Skills and Qualifications

• Have experience managing a high volume of phone calls and speaking with people in an empathetic but efficient manner.
• Excellent computer literacy skills and with online platforms.
• Strong verbal communication skills especially when working with community members seeking services.
• Ability to guide clients via a script to provide information over the program.
• Able to adapt to interacting with many different personality types.
• Maintaining composure under a high-pressure environment while maintaining empathy for clients matters.
• Experience with community outreach and engaging North Carolina’s diverse population.
• Must have access to reliable, consistent internet and have access to technology to properly engage in required technology and applications.
• High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
• Advanced Spanish language fluency is required.
• Experience working with Latino communities around health access. Community Health Workers are encouraged to apply.
