Overview:
We are seeking a CPAP/Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator to join our team. As a CPAP/Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the sleep department of this office. You will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks and providing support to the team and doctor. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, possess excellent organizational skills, and have a strong attention to detail.
Duties:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments for patients to go over sleep study results.
- Maintain patient records and ensure their accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with medical scheduling and coordination of patient care
- Handle medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage sleep supplies inventory and place orders as needed
- Handle outgoing orders such as, oxygen, CPAP/BIPAP/Vent, Vest, Nebulizers.. Etc
- Provide general administrative support such as filing, scanning, and data entry
-Monitor and track the diagnostic and treatment process to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner while assuring continuity of patient care. Follow up as necessary.
- Act as a liaison between the patient, durable medical equipment company and sleep center to ensure continuity of care.
-In charge of billing of sleep studies, depending on the insurance.
- Mange in coming faxes pertaining to the sleep/respiratory aspect, which include documents, prescriptions and title 19's for durable medical equipment companies.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements
- Experience with phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous medical receptionist is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
