Summary:

• Cardiovascular technologists who work in facilities that run tests on heart health.
• They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transfer stable patients to recovery rooms following the completion of procedures.
• Assist with the cleaning maintenance set-up and testing of EP lab equipment.
• Answer questions from patients and family members prior to the procedure.
• Monitored EKG readouts and reported any irregularities to the doctor.
• Inspect and test EKG equipment prior to patient procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures (cleaning, shaving, etc.).
• Anesthetize the area of insertion for angioplasties.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Associates Degree.
• Telemetry Certification or ability to obtain certification.
• One year of experience as a Cardiac Catheterization Technician.
• Current AHA BLS.
