HireUp Talent is partnering with our client in the Tampa Bay area for a Tax Accountant position.
Our client a small boutique CPA firm located in Tampa is looking for an experienced and autonomous Tax Accountant. The firm offers traditional accounting, auditing, review and tax services to a wide variety of businesses and individuals in the Tampa Bay area with a variety of clients from professional services, construction, real estate partnerships and more. Most of the tax work centers on partnerships and corporations, with minimal individual returns.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Performing and checking audit, review and compilation services.
- Preparation and review of income tax returns for businesses and individuals.
- Performing tax research.
- Assisting with tax planning for corporate and individual clients.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA certificate or CPA candidate Preferred
- 2 years prior CPA firm experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience with UltraTax and QuickBooks a plus
- Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Must be independent with strong analytical skills.
- Possess solid understanding of the different tax forms including 2553, 1120, 1120S, 940, 941, 1040s.
- Self-starter who utilizes resources and previous knowledge to complete work timely and accurately.
- Work autonomously and has the ability to manage time appropriately.
- Enjoy working with a small but highly knowledgeable team.

This is an in-office role from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with Saturday's hours during tax season.
