Director, Site Reliability Engineering

HireRight is seeking a SRE Director to establish our new SRE structure to support our growing platform. This newly created position will provide you an opportunity to grow as a leader as you hire and mentor your team. The SRE Team will ensure we are positioned to support our Development and Product teams to deliver the best experience for our internal and external customers.

Qualifications

QualificationsEducation:• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of experience leading software engineering, managing site reliability and/or site operations.Job Qualifications:• Extensive Software Engineering (Designing Coding Testing Deploying Servicing) experience.• Experience collaborating with various teams to identify performance issues, troubleshooting and root cause analysis and the development of remediation plans.• Experience with cost management and budgeting.• Experience documenting and presenting technical issues and/or solutions in non-technical terms to all levels of the organization.• At least 5 years’ experience in building, leading, and developing global teams.• Experience with Cloud Native capabilities such as Google Cloud IaaS and PaaS capabilities, and other technologies such as Java/Type Script, React, HTML, CSS, Databricks, Atlas/MongoDB, Spring Boot, Confluent Kafka and Appian software and systems.• Familiarity with Security, DevOps and Observability technologies such as Gitlab, Argo CD, Hashicorp Vault, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Activities include designing, developing, installing, and especially maintaining software solutions.• Work with engineering teams to refine and assist with deployment and release processes.• Collaborate with the engineering team on projects as the expert on reliability, performance, and efficiency.• Participate in 24x7 operational support and on-call rotation shifts.• Ensure that all design and support documentation is accurate.• Provide continuous monitoring of the environment for efficient operation to include tuning and capacity planning.• Develop, coach, mentor individuals and teams and ensure high performance in a fast-paced environment.• Build tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks and prevent incident occurrence.• Work with team to establish service level objectives and monitor to ensure the objectives are met• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, and work with the relevant teams (Public cloud vendors, application teams, Cloud Engineering) to resolve issues.• Work with the InfoSec team to ensure Security is a component of the solution.• Look for opportunities to drive operational efficiencies while reducing costs.
