Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at a hospital in the [Location] area. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and supporting the healthcare team. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Perform vital signs measurements, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and respiratory rate
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, such as X-rays or laboratory tests
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with coding and billing processes
- Provide basic life support in emergency situations
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
- Educate patients on medical procedures, medications, and self-care techniques
Skills:
- Proficiency in performing vital signs measurements accurately
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong patient care skills and ability to provide compassionate care
- Experience with medication administration under the supervision of healthcare professionals
- Understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures (if applicable)
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is highly desirable
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred
