Position: Western Bright Cut Hand Engraver

• Seeking: A talented craftsman with experience in hand engraving, a passion for creativity, and
• the desire to master this highly specialized skill. The ideal candidate will have a solid
• understanding of the fundamentals of Western Bright Cut engraving techniques, demonstrated
• engraving capability, and a willingness to learn from others. The company is willing to train and
• develop the right candidate who exhibits the desire, commitment, and potential for growth in
• this craft. This is an onsite position at company headquarters on the banks of the Yellowstone
• River in Columbus, Montana.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs into engraving layouts on gold, silver, and brass production products.

• Draw and execute bright cut scrollwork, including wriggle and bright-cut scrolls, line and

crosshatch scrolls, and single-point and bevel-cut overlays.

• Engrave and line flowers, and bead-set both precious and non-precious stones.

• More advanced engravers will carve wildlife, livestock, and scenery in miniature.

• Modify and sharpen gravers as needed.

• Solid foundation in hand-engraving techniques.

• Effective communication skills and the willingness to seek feedback and learn from other

team members.

• Passion for learning new engraving techniques and a fundamental understanding of

Western Bright Cut engraving.

• Demonstrated dependability and problem-solving skills.

• Artistic creativity and commitment to excellent craftsmanship.

• Reports to the Master Engraver.

• This position works with a team at our corporate and manufacturing headquarters on the

banks of the Yellowstone River in Columbus, MT, a 30-minute commute from the west end of Billings, MT.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.45 - $22.22 per hour
