Overview

The Director of Social Services is responsible for the operations of the Case Management and Social Work activities. Such responsibilities also encompass the integration of the department into the overall functioning of Hospital. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout Hospital. Directs daily operations and activities of the Case Management and Social Work activities.
• Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with JCAHO’s leadership standard
• Operates departments of responsibility in such a way as to meet the fiscal goals of the organization. Implements value added programs and services. Manages the satisfaction of department customers to include patients, employees and physicians through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness to customer issues.

Qualifications:

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

• A minimum of a bachelor degree, preferably a master degree, in social work or nursing.
• Three to five years supervisory experience in a health care setting.
