Our client, a thriving Electrical Construction company located in Durham, NC, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's growth and success in the commercial construction industry.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical experience in commercial construction.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience with estimating software.
  • Ability to interpret plans and technical documents.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for timely interactions with clients and suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.

Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for a range of estimating tasks and support activities:

  • Complete all aspects of electrical estimating, including the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), performing takeoffs, entering takeoff data, submitting Requests for Information (RFIs), and preparing proposals.
  • Construct comprehensive estimates from start to finish, ensuring that all project requirements outlined in plans and specifications are considered in our bids.
  • Collaborate with the senior estimator to streamline and coordinate the bidding process for each project.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and review processes.
  • Review the estimate with sales personnel and project managers once a contract is awarded.
  • Participate in the development of budgets and schedule of values once a project is secured.
