Diesel Mechanic/Fleet Mechanic for Large Services Company - Tampa, FL

Our client, large services company with a fleet of diesel vehicles is seeking a dependable, focused, experienced, and motivated technician to work independently in their Tampa, FL business hub. This technician will oversee and perform all preventative maintenance and detailing of commercial buses in order to meet business travel requirements. Diesel Mechanic Test will be administered upon hiring to assess training needs in order to support the new technician’s integration into the company’s processes and maintenance procedures.

Applicants must be able to perform the following duties:

• Must be able to obtain their CDL with passenger endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Diagnose problems with transport diesel engines and perform repairs with minimum supervision
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures in an efficient and timely manner
• Ability to operate computer software proficiently to track maintenance compliance and specifications
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance and repair manuals
• Complete necessary paperwork for dealer and corporate requirements
• Must have mechanical experience and maintain required tools to perform duties
• Must be able to effectively communicate while delivering outstanding customer service

Requirements

• Minimum 1-year diesel mechanic experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• High school diploma
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to effectively communicate
• Ability to work independently and safely
• Self-Starter/Self-Motivated
• Able to quickly integrate with teams
• INTEGRITY is a MUST!!
• Must be able to pass DOT Physical, Drug Testing, and Background Checks

Preferred:

• 3 - 4 years diesel mechanic experience
• Experience with the repair of commercial buses is a plus!
• Military background with NCO or SNCO ranks achieved
• Willing to work in a 365-day operational environment
